It's keeping me waiting...as the Carly Simon song goes! So far, I have picked five ripe tomatoes, with lots of greenies on the vine.
We have Brandywine....
(top photo)
Black Krim....
(second photo)
Japanese Black Trifele...
And last, but not least, Patio...
One in a series of postings about my greenies! Still working on my skills in posting photos...and getting text to match up!
Have any of the patio ripened yet? I have seeds for those stashed away for next year and am wondering what the flavor is like...
ReplyDeleteI have touted Patios on my blog...4 of the 5 ripe tomatoes have been patios. The fruits are small, but to me, perfectly sized. The flavor is great!
ReplyDeleteThe one in photo 2, like 3 tomatoes fused together and starts to crack... Nice tomatoes you have there... and photos are great too!

I know how you feel... I've got a bunch of green ones myself. I can't wait either! -Jackie
ReplyDeleteVery unique Japanese Black Trifele, you don't have to wait long on the last photo patio tomatoes, it looks yellow, ready to harvest soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, aren't the Japanese Black Trifele unique...I LOVE their shape!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also growing black krim and brandywine along with oh, 23 others. I have found that my Constoluto Genovese have the weirdest shape. I think your Japanese Black Trifle look very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI've got so many greenies as well. I'm super excited, I'm hoping my Sub-Arctic will be ripe soon.
Your tomatoes look awesome! I'm feeling a bit impatient for mine to ripen as well. Thanks for stopping by my blog again!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Fried Green Tomatoes (at the Whistle Stop Cafe) - yummy, I gather. YOur blog is looking great x
ReplyDeleteMe so jealous - my tomatoes still look weeks away from fruiting. :) Comes with the climate I guess.
ReplyDeleteMine are still not even flowering! I have tomato envy... There is nothing more lovely than the scent of tomato leaves in the warm sun...
ReplyDeleteI thought no one else thought that but me, Emma!
ReplyDeleteYour tomatoes look so good. You are definitely a few weeks ahead of me.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever harvest the green tomatoes and fry them? Just wondering if you like to eat them that way, too.
ReplyDeleteNot many more red ripe ones here in San Jose, California. So far I have gotten: countless ripe Sugary tomatoes, 1 ripe Japanese Black Trifele (scrumptious), 2 Better Boys and 3 Celebrities. Still waiting on all the huge beautiful green Aunt Ginny Purples, Carmellos, Santa Clara Canners and Ed's Millenniums. Good luck with your garden.
